Call of Duty: Warzone Experiencing Lobby Crashing Issue

Author: Carter Feb 01,2025

Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

The Problem: Warzone players reported widespread game freezes and crashes while loading into matches, beginning in early January 2025. This issue, tracked on the developer's Trello board, caused frustration due to unwarranted Skill Rating (SR) penalties and temporary match bans.

The Temporary Fix: In response to player complaints, Raven Software announced on January 9th that they've temporarily suspended SR penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses the unfair penalties stemming from the loading screen crashes. Penalties for mid-match disconnections remain in effect.

The Bigger Picture: This latest bug follows a series of issues plaguing Warzone in late 2024 and early 2025, including temporary server outages and ongoing concerns about cheating and other bugs. The January 2025 major update, while significant, didn't fully resolve all problems. The ongoing issues highlight the challenges faced by the development team in maintaining a stable and fair gaming experience.

The temporary fix offers some relief, but players eagerly await a complete resolution to the loading screen crash issue. The continued presence of bugs underscores the ongoing need for further updates and patches from Raven Software.
