Blizzard's Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour: A Global Celebration
Blizzard Entertainment is commemorating three decades of Warcraft with a global tour featuring six conventions across the globe from February to May 2025. These events promise live entertainment, exclusive activities, and opportunities to connect with Warcraft game developers.
Following Blizzard's decision to forgo BlizzCon in 2024 and instead participate in events like Gamescom and launch its inaugural Warcraft Direct, the World Tour marks a significant shift in their approach to fan engagement. This six-city tour celebrates key milestones within the Warcraft universe, including World of Warcraft's 20th anniversary, Hearthstone's 10th, and Warcraft Rumble's first year.
The tour kicks off in London on February 22nd and will subsequently visit Seoul, Toronto, Sydney, Sao Paulo, culminating in Boston during PAX East on May 10th.
Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour Dates:
- February 22 – London, United Kingdom
- March 8 – Seoul, South Korea
- March 15 – Toronto, Canada
- April 3 – Sydney, Australia
- April 19 – Sao Paulo, Brazil
- May 10 – Boston, United States (during PAX East)
While specifics remain limited, the events are anticipated to prioritize fan interaction and immersive experiences rather than major announcements. The focus will be on creating memorable moments and fostering community engagement.
Ticket acquisition will differ from traditional convention sales. Blizzard describes the events as "intimate gatherings," suggesting free, highly limited tickets distributed through regional Warcraft channels. Fans are advised to monitor their regional Warcraft communication channels for details on ticket acquisition.
The future of BlizzCon remains uncertain. A potential late summer/early autumn BlizzCon could serve as a platform to showcase the upcoming World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion, including the highly anticipated player housing feature. However, Blizzard's silence regarding future BlizzCons leaves open the possibility of a biennial model, similar to Final Fantasy XIV's Fan Festival. Regardless, the Warcraft World Tour promises a unique and engaging experience for fans.
