A New Evil Ending for Baldur's Gate 3

Larian Studios recently unveiled a 52-second cinematic teaser on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing a new evil ending slated for Patch 7. The preview centers on the Dark Urge, depicting the grim consequences of a completely evil playthrough.

The teaser portrays the Dark Urge's companions witnessing their leader succumb to Bhaal's influence, seizing control of the Netherbrain. This sets the stage for a reign of terror, with the companions becoming the first victims. The Dark Urge uses mind control to force their companions to their deaths, a scene accompanied by a chilling narration: "Time for the final act. Your tragedy has become mankind's." The Dark Urge ultimately suffers a similar fate.

This is just one of several new evil endings promised for Patch 7. Larian's April community update highlighted their commitment to adding "improved evil endings for even darker conclusions to your most sinister playthroughs," accessible even without playing as the Dark Urge. Previously teased endings included the Dark Urge standing amidst a sea of blood and corpses, and a town succumbing to "sheer mindless bliss" under the True Absolute.

What Else is Coming in Patch 7?

Patch 7 is a massive update, boasting significant improvements and new content. In addition to the sinister new endings, expect a dynamic split-screen mode for co-op play, enhanced Honour Mode challenges, and a highly anticipated modding toolkit.

Larian Studios has confirmed that this is not the end for Baldur's Gate 3. With crossplay and photo mode on the horizon, they are committed to ongoing improvements based on player feedback.

Currently in closed beta, Patch 7 is scheduled for release in September. The exact date remains unannounced, but players can register on the Steam store page for a chance to participate in the early access.
