Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition available now, with a whole new trailer alongside it

Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition is now available on iOS and Android! This release includes a free-to-play single-player island experience. For access to all expansions (also purchasable individually), plus additional perks, players can opt for the Ark Subscription Pass.

Our earlier speculation proved correct: Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition launched today! A new trailer and details have been released. (For a general overview of Ark, please see my previous article.)

This mobile edition is available on Google Play, the iOS App Store, and the Epic Games Mobile Store, offering wider accessibility than previous versions.

The core Ark experience is free. Expansions can be bought individually, or players can subscribe to the Ark Pass ($4.99/month or $49.99/year) for access to all current and future expansions, single-player console commands, bonus XP, free keys, and exclusive server access.

Subscription Concerns

The subscription model might be a concern for some players who prefer one-time purchases. However, the option to buy expansions separately mitigates this somewhat. The nature of server access will be a key factor in player satisfaction, especially given the importance of multiplayer in the original Ark experience.

Despite the mobile adaptation, the core gameplay remains the same. Our existing beginner's guide to Ark: Survival Evolved remains relevant for new players starting their dinosaur survival adventure.
