The name change, from Mugen (meaning "infinite" in Japanese) to Ananta (the Sanskrit equivalent), remains unexplained by the developers. While the meaning remains consistent, the decision has sparked mixed reactions within the gaming community. Some draw comparisons to Hotta Studio's upcoming RPG, Neverness to Everness, citing the latter's more substantial gameplay reveal as a potential advantage. However, Ananta's visual style has garnered significant praise.
Adding to the intrigue, the development team has deleted all previous social media accounts, including a YouTube channel boasting over 100,000 subscribers, opting for a complete fresh start, except for a renamed Discord server. This unexpected move has left many players puzzled.
Ananta casts players as an "Infinite Trigger," a paranormal investigator tackling supernatural events. The game features a diverse cast of characters, including Taffy, Bansy, Alan, Mechanika, and Dila. For a deeper dive into the game's mechanics, visit the official website.
