The FreeStyle LibreLink app is designed to work seamlessly with both the FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors, enhancing your ability to monitor your glucose levels effectively. With the FreeStyle LibreLink app, you can easily scan your sensor using your smartphone to keep track of your glucose levels. If you're using the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor, you'll benefit from automatic glucose readings updated every minute within the app, along with alarms that alert you to low or high blood sugar levels.
The FreeStyle LibreLink app offers a variety of features to help you manage your diabetes more effectively:
- View your current glucose result, trend arrow, and glucose history
- Receive low or high glucose alarms when using FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors
- Access detailed reports, such as time spent in target range and daily trends
- Share your data with your doctor and family, with your consent
It's important to note that compatibility with smartphones may vary based on the phone and operating system. For a list of compatible devices, please visit http://FreeStyleLibre.com.
When using your app and reader with the same sensor, remember that alarms can be set on either your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or your phone, but not both simultaneously. To receive alarms on your phone, you must start the sensor with the app. Conversely, to receive alarms on the reader, you must start the sensor with the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader. Once the sensor is started with the reader, you can still scan it with your phone. Keep in mind that the application and reader do not share data with each other. To ensure comprehensive data, scan your sensor every 8 hours with the device you're using. All data from your devices can be uploaded and viewed on LibreView.com.
The FreeStyle LibreLink app is specifically designed to measure glucose levels in people with diabetes when used in conjunction with a sensor. For detailed instructions on using the app, please refer to the User Manual accessible through the app itself. If you prefer a paper version, you can request one by contacting Abbott Diabetes Care Customer Service. Always consult with a healthcare professional to ensure this product is suitable for your needs and to address any questions about using it for treatment decisions.

Please note that if you use the FreeStyle LibreLink app, you will also need access to a blood glucose monitoring system, as the app does not provide this feature. Additionally, the alarms you receive do not include your glucose reading, so you'll need to scan your sensor to check your levels. Both FreeStyle LibreLink and LibreLinkUp require registration with LibreView.
