Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown

Love Sudoku? Want to challenge your friends or team up for a strategic puzzle battle? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version of the classic game, pitting you against other players or teams. The goal remains the same: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each column, row, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Gameplay:

Before starting, choose a difficulty level (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest). This determines the number of pre-filled digits. All players receive the identical puzzle.

Two game modes are available:

• Show Opponent's Correct Numbers: Each correctly placed number is visible to all players. Only the first player to correctly place a number earns points. Duplicate numbers are disallowed.
• Hidden Correct Numbers: Players cannot see each other's correct numbers, allowing for simultaneous correct placements and potential for multiple point awards.

Time-Outs: Incorrect placements result in a time-out (configurable, default 30 seconds), preventing the player from making moves while others continue.

Scoring: Correct placements earn points based on difficulty level (higher level = more points). Incorrect placements deduct half the points you would have earned for a correct placement.

Winning: The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. In "Hidden Correct Numbers" mode, the game ends when one player solves the puzzle, but this doesn't grant extra points; others can still win by making fewer mistakes.

Team Play: Team up with friends! Two teams compete, sharing points, notes, and filled colors within the team. This fosters collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools: A toolbar provides:

• Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to squares. Selecting a number already present removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares.
